Capsule Geology

The Consortium Southeast occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 870 metres on a west facing slope, east of Stewart Lake.

The area is underlain by pillow basalts, basalt flows and/or breccias and undivided basalt and andesite flows of the Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group).

Locally, two zones of mineralization have been identified. The type or style of mineralization is not reported but is likely similar to that of the nearby Sort (MINFILE 173) occurrence and comprise disseminated to massive sulphides associated with quartz-carbonate veins.

The first zone contains anomalous copper values with associated gold-silver values, while the second zone, located approximately 200 metres to the east, contains anomalous lead-zinc values with associated gold-silver values. A granitic dike is also reported in the area.

In 2018, two samples (32011 and 34600) from the first zone yielded values of 1.565 and 1.360 per cent copper, 9.98 and 5.54 grams per tonne silver with 0.25 and 0.12 gram per tonne gold, while three samples (32005 to 32007) from the second zone yielded values from 0.004 to 0.335 per cent lead, 0.179 to 0.668 per cent zinc, 7.04 to 23.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.18 to 0.43 gram per tonne gold (Wasteneys, H. (2018-10-30): NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Consortium Project).

Work History

In 1991, Arnex Resources completed a program of geological mapping and rock and silt sampling on the area as the Sort claims. In 2008, L.C. Greig completed a program of silt and soil sampling on the area as the BBB claims, Stewart Lake property. In 2012, M. Schuss staked the area and completed a program of prospecting and geochemical (rock and soil) sampling. In 2018, Rich River Exploration Ltd. and Fiorentina Minerals Inc. completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling on the area as the Consortium property.
